THE BYRD THEATRE FOUNDATION
Established in 2001 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, the Foundation’s mission is to restore and preserve the historic Byrd Theatre, as a grand movie palace, enabling it to unify Central Virginia communities by offering diverse cultural, educational and performance opportunities. The Foundation is led by a dedicated and skilled board of directors who are dedicated to raising capital, operating and endowment funds.
An Unprecedented 2:1 $250,000 CHALLENGE GRANT
The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation has awarded this exciting challenge to raise $500,000 in new capital and operating/capacity-building funds.
Upcoming Event
A distinctive and talented virtuoso, Cameron Carpenter visits the United States only a handful of times each year. His musical repertoire includes a range of work- original pieces, classical and contemporary, pop selections. A full concert given on the unique, Wurlitzer Organ is a rare occurence, which also makes this a not-to-miss event!
As the Byrd Theatre Foundation’s signature fundraising event in 2011, Cameron Carpenter’s show will provide a unique experience to music lovers while supporting the Foundation’s mission to restore and preserve the majestic Byrd Theatre.
